Finance and Corporate Management (FCM) Program
The FCM program belongs to the Faculty of Finance of the Ho Chi Minh University of Banking in (HUB). It is specially designed to reflect an interdisciplinary educational philosophy with a combination of two strong majors of HUB: Finance and Management.
On the foundation of knowledge in the fields of business, management, and finance and banking, students are equipped with quantitative knowledge and skills in finance. They will gain an understanding of how businesses make financial decisions through courses such as Corporate Financial Analysis, Project Appraisal, Corporate Finance Management, and Tax. Students will also study core courses in financial investment activities such as Financial Investment, Application and Valuation of Derivatives, and Portfolio Management. In addition, they will be equipped with knowledge of business management and operation in a digital environment, including Business Strategy in Digital Age, Digital Marketing, Project Management, Business Startup, Supply Chain Management, and Human Resource Management.
This helps students approach diverse concepts and perspectives to explore their potential and equip themselves with multi-dimensional viewpoints. Decisions in financial management and investment decisions are based on a solid understanding of business operation and management. This also broadens career opportunities.
Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Banking - Finance and Corporate Management program can take on jobs related to financial analysis, financial management, investor relations, and project management at enterprises. They can also work in positions such as Corporate Credit Appraisal, Corporate Client Relationship, Investment Analysis, Risk Management, Portfolio Management, Asset Valuation, Corporate Financial Advisory, and Market Management and Supervision at banks, securities companies, investment funds, consulting companies, and regulatory agencies. With an interdisciplinary knowledge foundation, career opportunities can also be extended to other fields such as management, human resources, marketing, operations, and supply chain management.

DESCRIPTION OF THE TRAINING PROGRAM
MAJOR OF FINANCE AND BANKING
Specialization: FINANCE AND CORPORATE MANAGEMENT
The general objective of the undergraduate program in Finance - Banking, specializing in Finance and Corporate management: Graduates in the field of Finance - Banking, specializing in Finance and Corporate management, have a solid foundation in economics, management, administration, accounting, and in-depth, modern knowledge in finance in general and corporate management in particular; have the capability to build and implement domestic and international financial plans/projects, start businesses, and engage in self-learning and research..

|
The designed duration of training is 4 years. Depending on individual student circumstances, the duration of training can be shortened to a minimum of 3 years or extended to a maximum of 6 years.

11. Student Support Activities
|
The following support activities are provided to students:
- Students are provided with study materials by the course lecturer (paper materials and electronic documents);
- Students are provided with a system of supplementary exercises for self-study to enhance knowledge and skills outside of classroom exercises; at the same time, course lecturers share relevant practical knowledge;
- Students are supported in their learning through direct classroom interaction or online websites by course lecturers;
- Students are supported with other related issues at the Student Affairs Office and the Student Support Center;
- Students can give feedback or evaluate the training quality of the University and each lecturer through Direct Dialogue sessions between the University - Students or self-evaluate through survey forms in each course provided by the Testing and Quality Assurance Office.

12. Educational Philosophy and Training Objectives of the Program
|
- The educational philosophy of "Interdisciplinary Liberalization and Experience" indicates that the program (1) facilitates learners to explore their potential; acquire deep professional knowledge based on a broad foundation of natural, social, political, legal, and technological knowledge, etc.; develop intellectual capacity; develop personal skills and shape positive life values aiming towards autonomous and creative individuals, outstanding professionals, and responsible citizens; (2) provides learners with interdisciplinary knowledge to gain a deeper understanding of their major, the ability to connect with experts avoiding biases in decision-making, increasing employment opportunities; (3) offers an environment "matured through experience" to help learners deeply understand theories, develop practical thinking, execution capabilities, thereby adapt and have the ability to transform the environment.

- Information Technology Outcomes: Students are recognized to meet the information technology outcome if they achieve one of the following conditions:
- Possess a basic computer and internet use certificate (IC3) and MOS (Specialist) certification in 3 of the following subjects: MOS–Word, MOS – Excel, MOS – PowerPoint, MOS – Access.

Group 1: General Education block includes 24 credits providing foundational knowledge about natural and social sciences necessary for the profession and lifelong learning skills; 5 credits for physical education; and 8 credits for national defense education.
- Group 2: Professional Education block includes:
- Core Subjects: 52 credits providing foundational knowledge about economics, business, and management, and some basic knowledge about finance and business administration.
- Major and Specialization in Finance and Business Administration: 48 credits offering in-depth knowledge required in the finance and business administration fields to enable students to make decisions in finance and business administration and choose their future professions
Internships and the graduation thesis take place in the final phase of the training program. Internships are mandatory. Regarding the graduation thesis, students can register for the thesis when they meet the following two conditions: (1) students must have accumulated enough courses of the program as required, not exceeding 6 credits; (2) The cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of courses in the major specialization must be at least 70 on a scale of 10 (for the yearly system) and at least 2.5 on a scale of 4 (for the credit system). If students do not meet the conditions or capability to undertake the graduation thesis according to regulations, they will study 3 replacement subjects equivalent to 9 credits. These replacement subjects belong to the specialization block of Finance and Business Administration detailed in the outcome matrix (section 16 below).
In addition to the main curriculum, students are also equipped with soft skills through extracurricular activities organized by BUH and various academic and skill clubs. These extracurricular activities are planned throughout the year and occur monthly, including music, sports events, social work, English clubs, finance clubs, scientific research clubs, physical education, national defense education, seminars... communication skills, teamwork skills, and problem-solving skills. Active participation in extracurricular activities is recorded in the student's discipline points system, one of the conditions needed to meet the program's graduation standards.

15. Assessment Methods of Learning Outcomes
- Grading Scale for Courses: The grading scale used for courses is a 10-point scale, which the Academic Affairs Department converts to a 4-point scale compatible with the credit system.

Course Assessment: The assessment of each course consists of two components: continuous assessment and end-of-course examination. Continuous assessment accounts for 50% of the course grade; the end-of-course exam accounts for the remaining 50% (except for the graduation thesis, which has its own assessment criteria). The specific assessment method for each course is announced by the course instructor at the beginning of the course (attendance, assignments, quizzes, presentations, tests, etc.).

17. Learning Opportunities
|
Students can graduate earlier by accelerating their course of study but must ensure the sequence of courses as per the training program. The time students can complete the program ranges from 3 to 6 years.

Students may also double major if they meet the GPA requirements (International Economics, Auditing, Economic Law, English Language, etc.). Students have the opportunity to pursue postgraduate programs domestically and internationally after completing their undergraduate studies at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking.
