THE PROCESS OF FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT …
Associated with the formation and development of Ho Chi Minh University of Banking, the Faculty of Finance has a history of more than 40 years with an important mission of training experts in finance, money, banking for commercial banks, financial institutions and businesses.
The process of birth, transformation and development of the Faculty of Finance went through many stages with different names:
- Before 1998, The Faculty of Finance originated from the Department of Central Banking, subjects related to finance since 1976 when HUB had the names of Advanced School of Banking, Center of Training and Banking Science Research.
- March 24, 1998, the Department of Money and Capital Markets was established under the Banking Academy - Ho Chi Minh City Branch.
- December 22, 2003, based on Decision No. 107/2003-DHNH on the establishment of units under Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking, Faculty of Money - Financial Markets under Banking Academy Bank - Ho Chi Minh City Branch, formerly the Faculty of Money - Financial Markets, Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City.
- On September 16, 2005, pursuant to Decision No. 1370/QD-NHNN of the Governor of the State Bank, the Faculty of Securities Market, Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City was established..
- On February 26, 2014, Decision No. 330/QD-NHNN of the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam restructured the Faculty of Securities Market into the Faculty of Finance with the main task of training banking, monetary and financial experts for commercial banks, financial institutions and businesses.
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS…
With a history of more than 40 years, many generations of teachers and students of the Faculty of Finance, Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City have tried their best to teach, research, study and practice; contribute to the development of the University in particular and the Banking industry in general.
With important contributions to society, the banking industry and HUB, the Faculty of Finance has been awarded many noble titles and awards, notably:
- Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister, dated November 12, 2011, for achieving many achievements in education and training from the 2007-2008 school year to the 2009-2010 school year.
- Certificate of Merit from the Governor of the State Bank, according to Decision 2308/QD-NHNN dated October 6, 2009, for outstanding achievements contributing to completing tasks in the 2007-2008 and 2008 - 2009 school years.
- Certificate of Merit from the Governor of the State Bank, according to Decision 1961/QD-NHNN dated November 19, 2020, for outstanding achievements contributing to completing the tasks of the Banking sector from the 2018-2019 school year to 2019. school year 2019-2020
- Certificate of Merit from the Governor of the State Bank, according to Decision No. 1902/QD-NHNN dated November 23, 2021, for outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Bank officials practice virtue, practice skills, create achievements to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam Bank".
- In 2019, the Faculty of Finance was awarded a certificate of accreditation according to the quality standards of the Southeast Asia University Network (AUN-QA) for training programs.
- On November 8, 2023, the Faculty was awarded the Certificate of University Program Partner by the CFA Institute of America.
- The Branch of the Faculty of Finance and the Faculty of Finance also received many Certificates of Merit from the Party Executive Committee and the School Principal.

Lecturers of the Faculty of Finance participate in building training programs, managing and teaching in 03 majors: Finance, Finance and Business Administration, Quantitative Finance and Risk Management in the Banking and Finance industry, High-quality university program in Banking and Finance, master's and doctoral programs in Banking and Finance, participating in teaching and training according to the school's plan with 17 subjects managed by the Faculty. The Faculty of Finance also expands specialized training for securities companies, banks, financial institutions, businesses and for social needs. The sweet fruit that the teachers of the Faculty of Finance have planted is that generations of students and learners have become successful experts, managers, and investors.
Besides training and scientific research activities, the remaining key tasks are that the Faculty of Finance always pays the highest attention and investment. With a team of lecturers with high academic titles and degrees, and extensive scientific research experience, the Faculty of Finance has produced many research topics at industry, ministry, and provincial levels, and published scientific articles. published in prestigious domestic and foreign specialized magazines; Textbooks and reference materials serve the learning of students, graduate students, graduate students, and readers inside and outside the school.
